Itakbo ang Saya ng Buhay...Kaya Mo Yan!
33rd MILO Marathon (July 05, 2009) >>finished at 28:55!
Originally, I along with 10 other PCs registered to run the 5km race. Milo was my brand and I want to run this race because I did a lot of PR processing for the nationwide marathon. (the streamers, posters, wobblers etc..) (Maramdaman man lang ang pinaghirapang trabaho! and be part of it..so surreal)
But since the others had a hard time waking up early in the morning, it was only I, Denver, Julian and Kim who continued to run the race on time. It started around 6:15am and we just positioned ourselves among the hurdle of 5km runners.
I didn't have breakfast nor did I drink water, so 20 mins. before the race, I didn't hesitate to eat taho from a bystander vendor (at least to put some calorie on my stomach). Denver became my running buddy for he was the only one among us four who really wants to finish the line at an early time. "Sabihin mo sa'kin Dom pag ikakasa na kita ah". So he keeps pushing my back whenever my pace becomes slow. He ran so fast that we parted when I reached Quirino Ave. My legs didn't hurt a bit but I can feel the thirst in my throat. I keep saying, "water..water..tubig please!!" Unfortunately, the water stand only showed up after the 5-k U-Turn!
I was running alone now and I keep reminding myself the line: "The pain is temporary but the joy of success is forever!" I also remembered our jogging days in NCOCC training and remembered Melencio's horrifying voice shouting (not actually, joke lang yon). It was motivating when we had a chance to run with a bunch of guys who kept singing in cadence(?). Most of the 5km runners were students and there were actually good looking runners on the 10 and 21km. So now I know what kilometer I'll be running next time! Hahaha! Just kidding!
I finished at 28mins. & 55 seconds accdg to this link:

The four of us met near the stage after an hour and congratulated ourselves for finishing the race though we didn't entirely ran the whole time. We got our free sandwich and water from the Nestle staff table and went for a long walk back to Julian's car (which was pretty far...really far!)
The last time I ran was in the 32nd Milo Marathon last November 24, 2008 and I think I finished at around 1 hour and 20 mins! That's because I started the race late! I actually arrived on time but left my baggage first which costed me around 10mins. to go back on track. I was suppose to run with Clarissa back then and she kept texting/calling me where the hell am I at 6am! So next time, I'm hoping that I'm going to run with more people and at a faster pace!
