Dance Return!

Since I was a child, I know I am inclined into arts. Be it with drawing, coloring, literature, music and anything you want art can be related to. I love the design of life and how colorful life can be when you start delving in to its wonderful colors.

Lately, I've gone back to dancing, which is one or if not, my most favorite hobby. My sister, Nicole, and I found this online voucher from ensogo.com.ph, a 1,500 pesos unlimited dance class at Movement Dance Studios. It has been a long time wish for us to attend a dance class. We have planned it last year and yet we can't find an affordable and eligible dance studio. And now we have the best opportunity to learn sexy jazz, cardio striptease, belly dancing, hiphop/hiphop mix and pole dancing(yes, you read it right), all unlimited classes for one full month!

We started last September 27, 2012 and the first class we attended is Belly Pop with Rosalia "Kim" Kong. We were 10-20mins, late when we arrived on the studio. I was shy to come in because most of them were in sport bras or midrib tubes and cycling shorts, while I was in a shirt and jogging leggings. Call it a fashion mistake of a first timer. We enjoyed it so much because we wiggled our bellies on modern songs of "Mic Jagger", "Oppa GangNam Style" and other pop songs I have never imagined to be used for belly dancing.

I bought a Coin Belt for Belly Dancing! Notice my belly has trimmed lately :)

We got more excited when we attended the Saturday session - Hiphop Mix with Teacher Chips, and another Belly Dancing session w/ Teacher Kim. We were surprised with Hiphop Mix because we were with five to six teenagers who were great in doing the fast steps. And we were in awe for ourselves who quite failed to put on that snappiness and hiphop flava on our every move. I told myself "I will come back better! And I can groove again like them!"

HipHop Mix Dance Class with Teacher Chip

Our Monday and Wednesday sessions are all instructed by Teacher Stan, which his forte is really ballet. He is currently teaching us sexy jazz, hiphop and cardio striptease. He has the longest stamina and I don't know where is he getting that much energy.

For the Pole Dancing (which is mostly taught by Ciara Sotto during Mondays and Wednesdays), we haven't tried it yet since it's always fully booked. We have to be there an hour before and it was difficult for my sister and I to come there by 5:30 from work.#

Below is our schedule for October:

Dance Class - Oct 10

October 10, 2012

I should be sleeping by now. Its midnight and I am still up here on the internet. Just wanna share some of the day;s highlights. During lunchtime, we went to Powerplant and searched for Khaila and our costumes for the Halloween dance. It was fun because it has been a long time since us four(the original friendship grouping) had a get together, even in the simple mall.

At 6:30PM, I went to my dance classes at Movement Dance Studio. My sister wasn't able to attend the Hiphop session. Our diva instructor, Stan, taught us moves for the music of "I fell in love in a Hopeless Place". The moves were not that fast compared with what we were learning from Teacher Chips of Saturday Hiphop Mix session. The warm up stage mostly concentrated on arm raises and it definitely made my flabby triceps to ache at the end of the warm up. I was able to get the dance steps easily but admittedly I enjoyed the former dance moves Stan taught last week.

Upon going home, we happen to pass by the tricycle terminal and I persuaded Nicole that I buy some buko shake from my favorite Nipa Hut vendor. I'm indeed tired and sleepy right now..I guess goodnight for now...ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..

Finishing at 31min. at 5k NatGeo Run

April 18, 2010
I was originally registered w/ Von & Ricci to run the 5km National Geographic Run at MOA grounds. But they didn't arrive and thank God my KB friends were there. Though they were to run for the 10km which is why they wore a black shirt. Rad fetched Aileen & Kim at their houses and I waited for them to fetch me at the waiting shed of Shopwise.
I actually saw Xandra Bernales, an MA blockmate of mine in college. There were a few celebrities who ran - Yael Yuzon (who no one even recognized him), Maricel Laxa w/ her daughters (her kid was shouting, "my mom's finished already & she was pointing at this flushed beautiful woman w/ blue shades), Ilac Diaz (who I guessed to be one of the ambassadors for the event). Ilac kept on welcoming the finishers and saying "Thank you for running...blah blah".
I checked the timer and it was 32mins. but because I queued for so long, I'm guessing I arrived at 31mins. This marathon was the most tiring of all! It's like an endless road and I kept on saying to myself, "malapit na matapos...wait asan na finish line?...ang tagal naman!" I kept on whining in my head, in addition to the constant sniffing I do because of an existing cold I have.

We got free multivitamins and a Granola bar from Nature's Day at one of the booths there. We took lots of pictures. Aileen, Rad and I went to Flapjack's to reward ourselves a fulfilling breakfast! But it was too much fulfilling that I failed to finish my food! It was really a fun morning.

Thanks to Aileen and Kim for the pictures.

Keeping Fit & Active! @ Nestea Fit Camp Hot

Feb 20, 2010 - Fort Bonifacio High Street
I joined 11am to 1pm Flag Football and 3-5pm Ultimate Frisbee, both for 6-weeks session.
FLAG FOOTBALL:
Yellow Team > Meng, Justin and me...I remember our Cubie(?) Curly Toes =)
Red Team > Ivan, Ricci & Von
(I wasn't able to get the names of the other people! Cute naman iba sa knila..hehe)

*for both games, it was funny that I and Ricci were always competitors. We have to attack each other. At flag football, she had a chance to pull my flag while I was holding the ball and as I panicked, I threw it at the forehead of my mate! My bad!

ULTIMATE FRISBEE:
Team#1 White bandana teammates > Ms.Remy, Ms. Leah, Lowell, Carlo, Jessie, and our adorable cute coach ian
*At first, we have to practice our disc throwing by partners. I'm with Von and I can say he can already throw very well. While my disc was quite wobbly in the air because I keep resisting my strong pulselated force!
When we had the game played, twice the disc was thrown to me and it just so happens cute coach Ian was always there and I have to throw it to me. While the third time I received the disc from Jessie and after that I was able to throw it very far!

I can't remember how many cups of Nestea Fit I have on this day. We were all very tired, dirty (as in dust-"libag" on our legs), smelled like sun and burned our skins to the scorching sun but it was all worth it! I really had fun and I don't have any regrets of being dark-skinned again! For me, I would prefer to have darker skin and have a balanced and active life than be fair-skinned and bore myself to death at home! I also met new people like Fabian, the Caucasian girl from South Africa which became my competitor at Ultimate. A couple of young people at frisbee were not that very friendly. Or maybe they were afraid because I might also throw the football at one of them again!~

FYI, NESTEA CAMP HOT is running for six weeks until March 27. You can register as a daycamper for 50pesos and add 80pesos to get the Nestea Fit Kit. The Kit already includes a Nestea Fit Shirt, white bandana, Beach Hut sunblock lotion and Rudy Project bag.
