My very own Style Staples

I went for a commute as I usually do on a coding Tuesday. Noticing that I was wearing the same old Mango black slacks since 2002! So in my far long years of working, it has surpassed most of my wardrobe cloting with a survival rate of 12 years!

Tey say branded clothing are just for patetic image conscious people. But if you have that hard earned money at pay day, why not buy something branded which you know will lastover time?
Here I am going to list down clothing and footwear which are style staples and proven to LAST over time.

1. BLACK SLACKS

My mother bought this Mango boot cut black slacks in 2002 and count down it's already 2016 and I've worn it in different ways! But since I have big hips and thighs, it looked like straight-cut ones.
-wore it for business attire
-wore it in college for gym class as I was lazy to bring my jogging pants (maybe around 3x)
-wore it for casual Fridays with a blouse in stilettos

This staple wins over the others and I bet if my mother knew that her USD 44 (Php 2,000) worth of Mango pants she bought have depreciated at 1 cent a day or less.

2. LOAFERS - WHITE KICKERS
Price when bought: Php 3,300 (Buy One Take One; with the ex taking the other FREE pair)

Originally bought a pair for field work back in 2011 and yet the sole just fell off this 2016. Did I throw it? No! I went to a small shoe repair shop and had both soles stitched for Php 50. This white kickers of mine has sentimental value as I have used it in my fieldwork all over Luzon. Walked and slept with it in several supermarkets. Ran with it when I try to catch a bus or a jeep so I would get on work project on time at 5amm. Fell inlove together with it when my ex and I would go on vacations everywhere. It has stepped Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. It has been paired with capris, slacks and a dress when my right foot got sprained. Now, how can I even let this pair go?

3. BLACK LEGGINGS

I've got tons of it. I think I've got 5 or 6. But because of my pear-shape body, I have a liking to wearing oversized tops or dresses over black leggings. The top can be sexy and pairing it with black leggings tones it down a bit. I have my black pairs since 2009 and have worn it both for casual, emergency bottom when I forgot my gym pants and as a light-weight, double purpose apparel (choosing if I have to use it for casual or for sleeptime) when travelling. Wherever brand it is, your buck is sure to be worthy when you purchase one.

4. TANK TOPS (BLACK at the most)

This is every supermodel's "go-see" outfit staple. Need I say more? When I want to highlight my face, collar bones and shoulder, and want to look simple and classy, I'd just put on a black tank top with a long skirt or jeans. Most of the time tank tops would be used as an undergarment. So I wouldn't miss owning atleast three colors - black, white and khaki.
